The Carriage House
Buffet & Catering Of Jefferson

Rating: 5/5
Stopped by The Carriage House in Jefferson for the breakfast buffet and was very impressed. The food was fresh, hot, and constantly being replenished. I really appreciated that they required everyone to wear a glove when serving themselves from the buffet—it made everything feel much more sanitary.
The biscuits, gravy, and eggs were great, but the pancakes were absolutely delicious and honestly my favorite pancakes I've ever had. If you're looking for a very good, inexpensive breakfast in the area, I highly recommend giving The Carriage House a try.

About the place
Locally owned, all-you-can-eat Southern buffet and catering business set in an old house in Jefferson, with a wraparound porch and a bar room. The menu changes daily, but fried chicken, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes are served every day. The weekend breakfast buffet adds eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, grits, Belgian waffles, regular and blueberry pancakes and French toast. Prices are low for a buffet; breakfast was listed at $11.99 for adults when checked in October 2026.
What other diners say: Reviewers on Tripadvisor and Yelp often praise the homestyle Southern cooking (especially the fried chicken, casseroles and desserts), the friendly staff and the charm of the historic house. Several mention the glove policy at the buffet. A few found some dishes less fresh on busy Sundays.
