The Best Way to Cook Corn on the Cob

A Sam's Table original.

MakesAs many ears as you like

Ingredients

  • Fresh corn on the cob, whole ears with husks on
  • Topping ideas:
  • Butter and salt
  • Chili-lime: butter, chili powder, lime zest and juice
  • Garlic parmesan: garlic butter and grated parmesan
  • Mexican street corn style: mayo, crumbled cotija, chili powder, and a squeeze of lime

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Put the whole ears, husks and all, straight on the oven rack. No shucking or soaking needed.
  3. Roast for 35 minutes.
  4. Let them rest 5 minutes so they're easier to handle.
  5. Cut off the stem end and squeeze the ear out of the husk (see my tip).
  6. Add your favorite topping and serve.
My tip

Cut off the stem end about 1 inch above the base, then squeeze from the top. The ear slides right out, silk-free. Use a towel or mitt since it's hot.
