Candied Almonds
Recipe by Lisa MarcAurele at Little Bit Recipes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole almonds
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of kosher salt
Steps
- Heat the air fryer to 350°F (or the oven to 375°F).
- Mix the brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a small bowl.
- In a larger bowl, beat the egg white until frothy, then beat in the vanilla.
- Add the almonds and stir until they're all coated. Then add the sugar mix and toss until evenly coated.
- Spread the almonds in a single layer in the air fryer basket (or on a greased baking sheet).
- Cook about 6 minutes in the air fryer or 8 minutes in the oven, tossing halfway. Watch closely at the end so they don't burn.
- Let them cool before eating. They get crunchier as they cool.
